Very good beach hotel in the heart of Santamarina. Just across the street from the beach. Breakfast buffet is included with a great spread of food. Service is acceptable. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. It’s not a luxury hotel but it’s not trying to be. Overall a great experience for the few days we stayed in Santamarina / Chioggia.
Nothing bad to say about this hotel ,, Very pleasant staff , nice breakfast , and later on they put different cakes in the reception you can eat for Freeeeeeeeee ;-) .
Really relaxed atmosphere at the hotel.
Parking at the hotel is sometimes possible or you can park close by.
Ordren a room with sea view , really worth the extra money.
TLDR: huge disappointment.

Problems started right after I arrived by car. Turns out that the booking.com description of parking arrangement was straight out lying claiming parking costs 3 euro whereas at the reception I was informed that there is no onsite parking space and I will have to park 200m further down the road for 10 euro per day. The 200m turned into half a mile when I actually got there. This kind of information should be printed with BIG letters on the booking page before you book the hotel. I was very tired after long hiking trip in Slovenian mountains, and having convenient parking so I don't have to walk far to get to my car was a key point in choosing the hotel.
Next, the view from the room. It's true. The hotel is actually beachfront and my room also had windows towards the sea. Unfortunately from the 2nd floor I wasn't able to see any sea behind the street and the bars on the other side. I asked for a room on a higher floor so I could actually see the sea, but I was told none is available. Overall rooms from which you cannot see the sea should not be advertised as having 'ocean view'. This was second key point which i based my choice on and again i was lied to by the hotel management.
Considering above two points would be enough to make me cancel the reservation, but it was too late and I was too tired to find a replacement. In which case all I can do is to write an appropriate review.
In addition, smaller things that also negatively impact my perception of this hotel: my room smelled strangely, the minibar was empty and you actually have to call for room service to deliver whatever you want to your room (I'm not gonna pay for that though and any chances for me leaving a tip in this hotel have died long time ago), room was very small, barely enough space to walk through the room.
On top of that I paid 576 euros + 6 euro city tax + 20 euro parking for 2 nights, which gives a per night price of over 300 euros. That's on par with some 5 star hotels with much better arrangements and amenities. This hotel standard is nowhere near this value range.
On the positive side: the staff was nice, the room seemed to be clean, the bathroom was ok. The terrace on top had a decent view to the venice islands and on the other side to the sea, but you can also see ugly buildings next to the hotel which obstruct parts of the view.
We stayed at the Smart Hotel Mediterraneo for two nights before boarding a cruise ship. Now that cruise ships are no longer allowed to dock in the centre of Venice, some cruise ships embark and disembark passengers at the cruise terminal in Chioggio. This is about 30 kilometres south of Venice, as the crow flies, but more like 50 kilometres by road. We flew into Marko Polo Venice airport and took a taxi to the hotel.
Chioggio is sometimes referred to as "Little Venice". It has similar canals and bridges and buildings but is less crowded and less expensive. It also has a wide sandy beach in Sottomarina, which is part of Chioggio, so we decided to stay there rather than in Venice itself.
The Smart Hotel Mediterraneo is located in Sottomarina overlooking the beach. It is a modern building and the rooms are very clean and white. A buffet breakfast, including some hot dishes, is served in the light and airy restaurant on the first floor. Weather permitting, there are also tables and chairs outside on the balcony. The hotel staff were very helpful and efficient, particularly in arranging the taxi to meet us at the airport and take us the 10 minute drive to the nearby cruise terminal. A good choice if you are starting or ending a cruise in Chioggio.
We spent a couple of days exploring in Sottomarina and old Chioggio. This was an enjoyable alternative to spending time in Venice, which we have visited before.
Lovely, extra dog friendly hotel, with a great view, option to take bicycles, great breakfast and lovely staff. Definatelly, worth to pay the extra money to stay in this hotel.❤️
Great hotel. Would have liked more choice of fresh fruits at lunch and dinner and the international channels seem to all be aimed at clients from Iran, Arab countries and Turkey - no British or USA channels. For te rest it is a great hotel
Wonderful hotel, staff are always at your service, if you have meals included (I choose just breakfast) they are great with a wide assortment of items including homemade jams and organic items.
Rooms are modern and spotlessly clean. I had a huge balcony over looking the side view of the beach and back of the hotel on the 5th floor.
Much better than many hotels I've been to in north America. Book direct for free beach chair and umbrella plus bike usage.
